Do you finish things you start? I generally do. No matter how long it takes. Over the last year and a month, I have been working, off and on, on an infinity scarf. It was a fingering weight yarn, and I was using size 2 needles. That means that I was using a very fine yarn, and each stitch was very small. So, the finished product was going to need a lot of stitches. I cast on 324 stitches. I figured I'd work until the yarn ran out. I've talked about the scarf as I've progressed. This month's knitting "theme" has been Projects that Fell by the Wayside. But I don't know if that really applies to this week's photos. I'll let you decide. The thing that makes a big difference in how long a project takes is the weight of the yarn used. My niece's Gray Behemoth only took about a week because the yarn was huge/heavy. For these scarves, I've been using fingering weight, which is a very fine yarn. So, something scarf sized is going to take a whole lot of stitches and way more time. I put these projects aside with all the others when I started my Christmas knitting. But they were the first ones I picked up . And they're not nearly done. I started the turquoise one on June 4th (according to its Ravelry page ). I've made quite a lot of progress on it, but it still has a ways to go... I finally finished the scarf! No, not that one . Or that one . But the one that I was making for eldest nephew's birthday. In December. Ahem. Yeah, it's only three months late... But it's finished. I had a couple visitors while photographing it. ...and... Yup, the kahonks are back. (Why kahonk? Here's the explanation .) It's one of those self striping yarns with very subtle color changes. It's hard to see from the above photos, but you can see it here... So, now back to the other scarves. The ones that I've been working on since last summer. I'll get those finished. Eventually.

If you follow me on Instagram, you've already seen my knitting photo for this week... Aaaaand, that's about all I got accomplished. About five rounds of the infinity scarf that I've been working on since... * checks Ravelry * ...since June. I pulled out my knitting. Looked at it. And didn't do a whole lot with it. I am back in my room . There's a big hole in my ceiling that'll get patched up in the next week or so. Progress. But my stuff is still living in the dining room until the guys come to replaster the ceiling, so I'm not wholly back in my room. It's great to sleep in my own bed. I have access to all my belongings. But I still feel a bit displaced. That's probably why I've gotten out the ugly slippers and the walking purse but have been unable to do anything with them.
